Woodworking Kits for All: Wish I Had Them as a Kid!
Wish when I was a kid it was considered useful, or even possible for girls to participate in woodworking or carpentry activities. I had to learn DIY myself, based on necessity, as a single mother with a limited budget, but loads of creativity. That’s why I want to make sure my grandchildren have all of the tools to build themselves a backup career or hobby based on woodworking tools, toolboxes and real carpentry projects. Who knows when you will need them? Even if you don’t, it’s a great skill to have.
Carpentry, one of the oldest professions that can be traced down through history, is still an important skill today. As a matter of fact, carpentry for children can be traced all the way back to the year 8,000 B.C., when family members used stone axes that they made themselves, to build their homes. Both a practical and complex talent, learning children’s carpentry at a young age can help develop hand-eye coordination, and give a youngster a useful hobby for their entire lives. Who knows? Starting off early with carpentry tools for kids could even grow into a future profession!
No matter what carpentry skill level your child is at, Red Toolbox takes quality time to a whole new level with multifaceted carpentry tools for kids and wood building projects for parents and children to enjoy together – while reaping the benefits of creating useful products. As Red Toolbox was uniquely designed to focus on building genuine and useful children’s carpentry projects that a child can feel proud about using and displaying, both the parent-child bonds and the child’s self-esteem are strengthened.
Through building real kids’ carpentry and wood assembly projects, with genuine carpentry tools for children, designed to fit a child’s hands and abilities, Red Toolbox also helps children learn to create and work with others, as well as relying upon themselves. Children are stimulated and challenged with the carpentry for kids projects, as when one project is completed, the child and parent team “graduate” to higher levels according to age, ability and desire. In an era of passively watching TV or playing endless computer games, Red Toolbox makes DIY for children a relevant, interactive and bonding adventure for families from all over the world.
CoolGrandma is one of those ladies of a certain age who don’t look it or act it. Always on the lookout for new projects, she is anti-TV, not thrilled about computers and mourns the old days before technology took over.

Woodworking Ideas, Plans and Projects
After acquiring the basic tools the some amateur carpenters will struggle to come up with any woodworking ideas to get them started.
The answer is simply to get a set of plans; these will include a wide range of woodworking ideas for the hobbyist to tackle. Plans are available online at a fraction of the cost when compared to buying one blueprint for each project and can be as low as one cent per plan.
With a good set of plans to hand the novice can start small and work their way up as their skills and tool kit increase.
Garden projects are a good place to start and a hammer, saw and screwdriver will be enough to handle most jobs. Items such as bird nesting boxes and bird tables are always in demand and the timber required could be lying in the woodshed.
Take a look on Amazon at the price of a luxury dog kennel or rabbit hutch, these goods are well within the ability of your average handyman and any of these items can be sold to raise funds for bigger, more complicated jobs and more woodworking tools (the wood turning lathe has to be the ultimate goal).
Your woodworking plans should include:
• An itemised index – with enough Woodworking Ideas to last a lifetime.
• A full list of wood and fixtures – with this information you can work out your costs and buy your timber and hardware with just one visit to your supplier.
• Step by step instructions – taking you through the project in logical stages.
• Illustrations of each stage of construction – so that you double check your progress visually and check what your Woodworking Ideas should look like.

Beginner Woodworking Projects – 2 Top Questions Answered
Filed under Woodworking Tools
For any beginner, woodworking projects can seem more daunting than anything else, this was definitely the case for me when I began woodworking many years ago. I’m going to answer 2 of the questions that I’m always asked by folks who are new to this craft. The answers will help you get a much better idea of what you can do to get started on a project of your own right away.
Beginner Woodworking Projects
Q. How do I come up with ideas for projects?
A. For a beginner, woodworking ideas may seem a little difficult to find. There may be plenty of projects you would like to start on, but how do you to know if the project will be too difficult to complete? I find a good rule of thumb is to keep things small, a birdhouse, picture frame or simple stool are perfect starter projects. The skills you learn on such projects will build a strong foundation for a much larger project such as a shed or a deck.
Q. What tools do I need to get started and are they expensive?
A. Beginner woodworking tools don’t need to be the top of the range, or even new for that matter. All of my best tools are more than 3 years old, they are well kept and good as new. To begin your collection, you should have a 6″ layout square, a claw hammer, a good set of screwdrivers and a 25′ retractable tape measure, all of which are very inexpensive to buy. Once you’re used to working with these tools, you can get yourself a a chisel set, a utility knife, a block plane and a level. Just about any job can be carried out with this basic set of tools.
Beginner woodworking projects don’t need to be frustrating to get into. The questions answered in this article should help you to focus on the next steps to take to get your wood project under way.
If you’ve HAD IT with the same old DIY project plans that don’t deliver you know the ones, like “how to make a birdhouse in 3 minutes”, then…

Woodworking Series-2
Soon you will discover that woodworking can be a delightful way to spend your time, but if you put enough time, accuracy and concentration on every detail then woodworking can turn in to an incredible business. At the same time woodworking is not something that you are going to learn after reading a few books, for excellent results you need to practice a lot and you also need to have patience to be a good woodworker.
The most important thing about woodworking is that you have to know how to use and take care of woodworking tools & equipments. This means you have to keep your knives sharp and you must also dirt free your rasps, chisels, planes and from time to time sharp them as well. For a good and safe job you should also wear special clothes made for woodworkers. You will need hammers & chisels of different sizes. The most useful tools that you will need are claw hammers as they will help you to extract curved or bad nails. Keep in mind your chisels must be very sharp in order to make a perfect cut, but be careful while using it as lack of attention may result in wrong cuts.
Table saw is extremely important for a woodworker or woodworker’s shop especially where many peaces of wood are made on a daily basis. It is considered as a stable of the woodworker’s shop. If you have not used it before, you can’t imagine the kind of accuracy, quickness, and stability it provides. If you use a hand saw, your cuts might be off, or the edges may not be straight, and it might take many days to make a peace of wood like a simple table. On the other hand, a table saw helps you to make straight and right cuts, saves time, and reduces your efforts. You can easily avail a good table saw somewhere around 0-0.

Used Woodworking Machinery, Equipment & Tools Website Creation
Filed under Woodworking Tools
1. Define the Scope of Your Woodworking Machinery Website
First, decide what your website will be about. Do you want your used woodworking machinery tools website to be a simple brochure-ware style or an e-commerce site with robust functionality like shopping cart, woodworking machinery quoting, newsletter distribution, sales tools, and advertising capabilities? Once you have defined the scope of your website, put together a website outline and content.
2. Buy Domain Name for Your Woodworking Machinery Website
Next, you need to select a domain name. A domain name is the name you want to give to your woodworking machinery website. To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. GoDaddy.com is a great site to visit and research names for your website. It is important to choose a memorable domain name that contains your targeted keywords. Having a keyword-rich domain name may help you get good rankings in the search engines. Some of the good keywords for your woodworking equipment and tools website might be: woodworking, machinery, used machinery, buy machinery, woodworking equipment, woodworking tools. Use Google AdWords Keyword Tool to further research your keywords.
3. Design and Code Woodworking Machinery Website
Once you have the concept for the website and have registered a domain name, it is time to design and code the website. You may choose to design it yourself. Templates are available on the Internet and it is easy to create a design without a lot of HTML knowledge. If you are not experienced, you may still find it difficult to create that “professional appeal” with a “do-it-yourself” approach. Most businesses find that hiring professional designer money well spent.
4. Choose a Web Host and Sign Up for an Account
Once your site is completed, you will need to sign up for an account with web hosting company is order to get your web page onto the Internet. The simplest approach is to select a hosting company and pay a fee for space each month. It is easy these days to find a hosting company with 99.9% uptime for less than /month. The best advice I have is to do your research and ensure the company is reputable and does backups of your data frequently.
5. Drive Traffic to Your New Woodworking Machinery, Equipment & Tools Website
When your site is ready, you will need to submit your site to the search engines, particularly Google, Yahoo and MSN. However, submitting your site to search engines along is, quite frankly, a pointless endeavor. If there are no other links to your site on the web, search engines may be reluctant to show results that include your pages. Therefore, its important to build links. Directory submissions, link exchanges, press release and article distribution are a few ways that can help you increase the number of links pointing to your woodworking machinery website. MachineryFrontier.com for example, offers to its advertisers professionally written articles as part of the online advertising package offering.
Conclusion
The above guide is not exhaustive. It is a distillation of some of the basic steps to getting started with your used woodworking machinery site.
Machineryfrontier.com is the premier new and used woodworking machinery website . With comprehensive information, photos, and a large selection of new and used woodworking machinery equipment, MachineryFrontier.com puts buyers in control of the machinery purchase process. For sellers, MachineryFrontier.com generates a large online audience of targeted shoppers ready to make purchases

How To Find The Right Woodworking Equipment
Filed under Woodworking Tools
No matter whether you might be a professional builder or even a complete newbie you may want to stretch your budget when it comes to your woodworking tools. It is possible to save money. However, it is advisable to select the right equipment first.
Try and determine how often you are going to use this tool. The most common guideline is the more it’s used the better the quality you buy. If you are just starting out this may be a little difficult to determine. This is one area that has many factors involved. First and foremost is space. If you have plenty of space, a garage that’s got lots of open space or even your basement, a quality table saw is a worthwhile investment. Although a stationary table saw is much preferred, portable table saws are considerably better quality when compared to what used to be. Therefore, you should not feel like you absolutely need a shop style saw. Remember you need to have ‘working room’. If you are trying to maneuver a 4 X 8 sheet of plywood it takes much more room than 4 feet by 8 feet! When you are first starting out the ‘working room’ may have to be the backyard.
This still does not mean you have to run out and buy a brand new tool.
Where To Shop For Woodworking Tools
If you know your tools are going to get considerable use, and you have the budget it’s an easy choice to make to buy new. The warranties on many tools today are something to consider. Many manufacturers offer a lifetime parts replacement guarantee. Others have a low cost extended warranty that will replace your tool if it every fails. Next consider a remanufactured tool. Factory refurbished tools can be a good deal but make sure to check out the warranty that is offered. Often times the warranty is considerably less than a new tool. If the difference of the selling price of a new versus remanufactured tool is not significant, then it turns out to be not that good of a deal.
Consider Used Tools
When purchasing woodworking tools, the main method of saving money is buying used equipment.
This should be restated to ‘consider lightly used tools’. There are many sources for used tools today. Try starting with the classified ads in your local newspaper, Craigslist, a bulletin board at your local hardware store, and of course the internet.
The internet would be a tough choice for the reason stated above, lightly used. You have to use good judgment when purchasing a used tool. You can usually tell in a few minutes of inspection how well the tool was taken care of and how much it was used. Plug it in and turn it on. Make a test cut on a piece of scrap wood. Listen to it running. When you have a doubt, don’t make the purchase. Consider sticking to the top brand names when looking for used woodworking tools.
There can be a significant difference between the tools you may need when woodworking is your hobby and the tools you must have as a professional. There is a difference in quality. Sometimes you can get by with a lesser quality tool. If you plan on making many woodworking projects, or you might want to consider woodworking as a profession stick with the major manufactures’ of tools. Whether they are new or used tools you will notice the difference. They will meet your needs and probably last a lot longer than you would imagine.

Woodworking plans, projects and tools
Woodworking can be a rewarding experience. To actually create something with your own hands is something that gives you a sense of accomplishment. There are so many things that you can create with wood that the even if you did a project a day you might not run out of things to make. Preparing for woodworking projects requires woodworking plans and the right woodworking tools. If you don’t have the right plans and tools, completing a project can prove to be a difficult task.
Let’s say you want to build a nice birdhouse for your yard. There are many different kinds of birdhouses that you can build. Some of them can look like simple structures with holes in them while others may look like big farmhouses and have detailed paint jobs. If you choose to build a nice looking birdhouse you will need to get the right woodworking plans and woodworking tools. When it comes to woodcraft, in most cases the planning is what takes the longest. Planning woodcraft projects takes detailed measurements and directions. Being off with your measurements can make the project a complete failure.
Birdhouses are just one example of a woodcraft project. There are projects that are much larger and really can turn out to be a disaster if you don’t have the right woodworking plans. If you are building a shed for the backyard, the right planning is key to successfully completing the project. Woodworking projects of this size require precise measurements and you better be sure you have all the right woodworking tools or you might be stuck with a half finished shed in your yard. You don’t want to be halfway through your project and find out you don’t have the right tools to finish or that your measurements are so off that you are better tearing it down and starting over again.
Woodworking is fun when done right. Doing a job right means you want the right plans and the right tools for the job. Being prepared goes a long way when it comes to woodwork. As previously stated, the planning process can take up the vast majority of the time dedicated to the project. After the planning is done all you have to do is simply follow the plan that has been laid out. The more detailed the plan, the easy the actual construction is. Be prepared and be successful in your project.
